Object of the Month - 2019 April
Every month the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World highlights one of the many objects that are part of the collection shown in our permanent exhibition. Come and discover the object of the month and find out more about our history.
As part of our 2019’s International Day of Monuments and Sites celebrations – under the theme: Heritage and Rural Landscape, we select for this month a photograph that portrays the landscape of the Douro Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001.
You can observe this photograph in the last section of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World. It’s part of a photograph selection belonging to Domingos Alvão’s collection, which portrays several facets of wine production in the Upper Douro region.
