The Rabelo boats were essential as a mean of transportation, and also for the expansion of Port wine, therefore they became a symbol of the entire region. This photograph by Domingos Alvão portraits the loading of Port wine taking place in Régua. The photographic collection it belongs to, portrays the Douro territory in the various facets of wine production. This photographic record was requested to the photographer by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Porto, in 1933.
