International Museum Day 2021 | A virtually accessible museum
On this 18th May we join you to celebrate the International Museum Day, albeit in digital form. Due to technical and maintenance circumstances, the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World is temporarily closed. Nevertheless, we plan to reopen to the public soon.
Over the past year we have been promoting the contents displayed in our permanent exhibition by digital means, not only the objects we select monthly but also by showing other contents that comprise our collection and history. Thus, we continue to share our permanent exhibition and its exhibition route through our digital format, complementing it with the page dedicated to the permanent exhibition (click here) in the Museum.
On this unique day we share the special visit to the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World carried out by the historian Joel Cleto, in February 2020, where the origins of this museological venue are analysed, as well as the history of Real Companhia Velha itself.
