Object of the Month - March 2021
Every month, the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World highlights one of the objects on display at our permanent exhibition. Discover the object of the month and find out more about our history.
The former Casa da Companhia, is one of the most iconic places related to Real Companhia Velha’s history, having been its headquarters until 1961, when the company moves permanently to Vila Nova de Gaia. This 16th century house will be one of the places mentioned in a historical analysis project that is being developed by the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World and which will soon be made available online.
The photograph selected as the object for the month of March belongs to the collection of the photographer Domingos Alvão, from which thirteen photographs were selected and are exhibited in the last exhibition area of our Museum.
