Object of the Month - 2019 June

Every month the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World highlights one of the many objects that are part of the collection shown in our permanent exhibition. Come and discover the object of the month and find out more about our history.

The accounting book present here is a ledger of the Company’s vast set of accounting records, which used the double-entry system, a technique that was an innovation in the accounting of companies in the region.

This book is displayed in the fifth area of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of the Oldest Appellation in the World. This area highlights a selection of account books, as part of the company’s accounting history.
